Welcome to Frugal Value Lifestyle!!

A little about me:  My name is Laura who is a believer in wise spending. I am also a Christian who believes it is most honoring to God to use our resources wisely.  Whether Christian or not, wealthy or lower class, being frugal is something that I have always felt to be an attribute to those who were able to enjoy life without the stresses and burden of debt or too much “stuff”.

I met my husband in high school and have been married for over 33 years.  We have three daughters who are all now past the high school level with one still in college.  We have gone through some tough times as well as times where the milk and honey was flowing well.  My hobbies are sewing, cross-stitch, scrapbooking and card making, along with other crafts from time to time.  My husband is skilled in wood-working and home-maintenance.  Having these interests and skills has been an attribute towards living our frugal lifestyle.

My educational and career background is in accounting, management, and business, as well as LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) work at our local hospital, and studying surgical technology.  In addition, I ran a successful home-based sewing business (13 yrs) while home-schooling our daughters for approximately 8 years.

Why Frugal?  Many confuse frugality with being cheep.  In fact, frugality is more in line in using your resources wisely.  This not only encompasses your financial wealth but also material possessions and using them wisely.

It is about choosing quality and value, while maintaining a balance of needs.  Depending on your circumstances, you might need to go without some of your “wants” while you save until you have the resources to acquire it.  Others might be looking at how their hard earned money is being wasted on immediate gratification.  Frugality is a choice.

I look forward to sharing with you my thoughts and how my husband and I maintain a financial balance living a Frugal Value Lifestyle..
